Ronald Ma is S.H. Ho Professor of Diabetes and Head (Academic Affairs) of the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Honorary Consultant Endocrinologist at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong. Prof Ma is a Past President of the Hong Kong Society of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Reproduction; Diabetes Hong Kong; and the International Diabetes Epidemiology Group. With more than 450 peer-reviewed publications, his work focuses on the epidemiology and genetics of diabetes and its complications, GDM and PCOS. He has conducted long-term follow-up of the Hyperglycaemia and Adverse Pregnancy Outcome (HAPO) Study. Prof Ma is the recipient of multiple distinguished awards internationally and has had pivotal roles in working groups with the World Health Organisation, International Diabetes Federation and the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO).
