Professor Joanne Said is a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) subspecialist obstetrician at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s, Western Health, and a clinician-researcher at The University of Melbourne. She is dedicated to improving outcomes for women with complex pregnancies and their babies, particularly in pregnancies complicated by conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
Professor Said has published more than 100 peer-reviewed research papers and has been a Chief Investigator on multiple NHMRC and MRFF-funded research grants. She currently leads the international PRECeDe trial, investigating antenatal corticosteroids prior to caesarean section in women with diabetes, and the Australian arm of the international C*STEROID trial examining the same treatment in women without diabetes.
